An interview is a conversation where questions are asked by the interviewer and the answers are given by the interviewee. It is a formal meeting to obtain information from the interviewee.

There are many types of interviews that an organization can arrange. It depends on the objectives of taking the interview. This type of interview is designed to get the information of the interviewee through discussions and observations.

Ten basic interviews questions are stated:

  1.  Tell me about yourself?
  2.  Why do you want to work at our company?
  3.  What are your strengths?
  4.  What are your weakness?
  5.  Why should I hire you?
  6.  Tell me what do you know about this company?
  7.  Why are you looking for a job change?
  8.  What are your salary requirements?
  9.  What are your career goals? 
  10.  Finally, do you have any question to ask me?

 

  1. Tell me about yourself?
  • Start with your name.
  • Give your place information.
  • Education in short.
  • Job experience if any.
  • Family details in short.

Example:

My name is Sadhana Yadav. I live in Mumbai. I have done B.A. and MBA in HR.

I have 4 years’ experience in HR and I have a small loving family.

  •  Tell them what you like about company.
  • Relate it to your long –term career goals.

Example:

Sir/Ma’am, It is a great privilege for anyone to work in a reputed company like yours. When I read about your company I found that my skills are matching your requirements, where I can showcase my skills to contribute to the company growth.

Example:

I am an honest, self-motivated and hardworking girl with positive attitude towards my career. I can easily take quick and right decisions.

  • To speak lie is difficult for me
  • I am a bit lazy about which I am not interested

Example:

I can’t say no when someone asks for help and I am a bit lazy about which I am not interested.

Example:

If you are fresher

Sir/ Ma’am, as I am a fresher, I have theoretical knowledge but I will do hard work for the organization, and I will put all my efforts for the good progress. Being punctual and Sincere, I can finish the work given to me on time and try my best to fulfill all the needs of company from me.

If you have work experience

With reference to my work experience, I satisfy all the requirements for this job. I am sincere with my work and would never let you down in anyway, I promise you will feel proud for the decision to appoint me in your organization.

  • Study about the company in details.
  • Do the background work about new projects
  • Know the names of their owners and partners
  • Research about the company current issues
  • Update your knowledge about their competitors.

Example:

It is one of the best faster growing company across the world. The work environment of the company is very good. People feel proud to be part of the company as company provides full support to their employees. It has many branches. I have good opportunity to show my talent.

  1. Why are you looking for a job change?
  • Thanks to previous organization.
  • Explain what learn from your past job.
  • Share your reason for job change.
  • Relate to career goals.

Example:

I am thankful to my previous organization because I have learnt a lot of thing from there. According to me changes are necessary for personal growth and financial growth. Your organization is good platform where I can learn more.

  1. What are your salary requirements?
  • Never share your salary requirements as a fresher.
  • Experienced candidates can share their expected salary.
  • Always say as per the company norms for the jobs.

Example:

If you are fresher

I am a fresher. Salary is not the first priority for me. This is a big platform to start my career and I also want to improve my knowledge, skills and gain experience. So I expect a considerable of salary according to my ability and your company’s norms which will fulfill my economical needs.

If you have work experience

I have 4 years’ experience in HR field. Salary has never been a big issue for me. Still I am expecting salary as company’s norms as per my designation, qualification and the experience which can help me to maintain the standard of level of my personal and economical needs.
